Event officials are those people who give up their time to ensure an event runs smoothly.
- they may be judoka or non-judoka.
- they may be visible as mat officials eg time keepers, recorders or referees.
- they may be invisible shuffling paperwork, organising pool sheets or making sure the venue is booked and everything is in place to ensure the event can take place.
- they are often the unsung heroes.
- judoka should remember mat officials are humans doing their best, mistakes happen but can be rectified if brought to the attention of the event officials
- event officials don’t get medals for taking part and they don’t deserve abuse.
