Junior Training will take place as usual 6:15 to 7:15, to be followed by Senior Training 7:15 to 8:15.
Alongside Junior training, The Foundation Group will be having a Groundwork Competition (this may run later than 7:15)
Red and White belts will be doing groundwork contests only
Blue and White belts will be doing full contests (throws and holddowns)
A competition may sound like fun or it may sound scary. Your Sensei’s will be there to make sure it is fun, but if you don’t want to take part it is still a good idea to come along, see what happens and support those taking part then next time you will know what to expect.
Tracey will need Timekeepers and Recorders to assist with this event, and Sensei’s Sam, Alex and Barney will require Referees -this is an ideal opportunity for all MO (young and old, judoka and non-judoka, experienced and less experienced) to share in a fun competitive judo event.
Foundation group will run as normal – 10:30 till 11:30.The Foundation Grading has been postponed to November.
All judoka (foundation, junior and seniors) hoping to be graded up should make every effort to attend their grading session. In the event of a kyu grade being unable to attend it maybe possible for Sensei to arrange an alternative date but Sensei must be notified before the grading starts.
For a variety of reasons some students may not wish to be considered for promotion to a higher grade. Please discuss with Sensei if you feel you or your child is not ready to progress to a higher grade.
Those hoping to grade to Black Belt and higher must attend this session, although their grading will be spread over a number of training sessions. Judoka hoping for promotion to black belt and higher must discuss their intention with Sensei John 2-weeks before grading day.
Junior and Foundation judoka will have ‘games and sweeties on the mat’ and from 11:30 Sensei will be presenting His Blackwater Awards to deserving students.
Whether or not you expect to receive an award, please support your fellow judoka by attending training today and making sure you can stay till 1:oo o’clock.
If you received one of the big Annual Trophies last year please dust it and return it to Sensei by the last Saturday in November (if you are unsure if your trophy needs returning just ask Sensei John)
We have use of the Jubilee Lounge for tea and coffee – so parents put your party hats on and bring your mince pies and sausage rolls.
